Dr. Shrooq Alsenan is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems Sciences at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University as well as the recipient of the Jameel Clinic AI & Health fellowship from Community Jameel for the year 2022-2023. She obtained her Ph.D and MSs from King Saud University (KSU). Her Ph.D research investigated AI and machine learning algorithms in the area of chemo-informatics where she proposed effective in-silico quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR) models to predict molecular compounds permeability to the central nervous system. Her research interests focus on machine learning algorithms, data visualization and data analytics in healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
Alsenan was awarded 1st place distinguished PhD dissertation in the Annual Awards Ceremony for Excellence in Scientific Research at CCIS, King Saud University 2022 in recognition of her research contributions. She was also funded by research chair of Healthcare Innovation at King Saud University for the year 2020.
She previously held the position of the Head of Partnership and Investment, and was a co-founder member of the CCIS research center at the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University. Since 2021, Alsenan has been part of multiple research projects with the Ministry of Health in KSA to address AI related multidisciplinary research topics in her capacity as a senior member of multiple research labs in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia such as Automated Systems & Soft Computing Lab (AASC), Advanced Operations Research Group at Prince Sultan University and AI Center of Excellence at Alfaisal University.
In 2022, Alsenan joined Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a post-doctoral fellow supported by MIT-KACST Ibn Khaldun Fellowship Program for Saudi Women.
